Many of us crave to live in a large apartment with enough space to store all our valuables. However, sometimes, the things we pray for do not come to us due to several factors. Perhaps, it could be that you lack money to rent a bigger apartment or that you have many accessories that may not be contained in your apartment.

Whatever the situation may be, did you know there are ways you could maximise that small space you have and make it hold all your valuables so that your house looks clean?

Here are the top 5 ideas that are going to help you maximise storage or space in your apartment:

1. Use storage baskets

Storage baskets come in different sizes and colours and can serve a dual purpose – it can be used to decorate your living space, and you can also use it to hideaway accessories or items such toys, scrapbooks, shoes, clothes, etc. After filling your storage basket with items, you could hide it away under your bed, in your bathroom, or closet if you have some space there or anywhere else there is space in your apartment.

2. Consider using collapsible tables and furniture

Collapsible furniture like foldaway chairs, collapsible table are a life saver when it comes to maximising space. After each use, you collapse the table or chair and create more room or space in your apartment.

3. Hang your stuff on the wall

When it comes to maximising space in your apartment, you have to be both thrifty and crafty; think outside the box. No rule says it is only framed pictures that should be hung on the wall. You can hang that bicycle you rarely use on there and save enough space. You can also stuff those shoes lying around in a storage basket and hang the basket on the wall. The list of items you could hang on the wall and create more space is endless.

4. Put shelves wherever possible

Many things in the home can go on the shelf – from books, jugs, cups, towels, etc. Not only does the shelf help you create more space, but it also serves as a piece of decoration.

5. Get spice racks

If you cook your own food, you know you need lots of spice bottles to store those spices, and this can take up a lot of space in your kitchen. To create more space, create spice racks on the inside of your cupboard for holding all your spice bottles.
