The key to any successful financial venture is to research, plan and then research some more. Investing in property is no different, and there is a wealth of information online to absorb.

There are also a number of books which break down the practicalities of property investment, and these are our top five to read, put into practice, and then read again!

How to Buy Property with your Super Money – Tony Melvin and Ed Chan

This book takes you through the power of self-managed super funds and how you can expand your portfolio and strengthen your kitty for retirement. Using simple language to explain complex concepts, this will empower you to take control!

20 Must-ask Questions for Every Property Investor – Margaret Lomas

This is the first of two books by Margaret Lomas on this list – and for good reason. 20 Must-ask Questions was released in 2012 and is a concise and practical guide for those wanting to buy with a goal of capital growth. It is especially detailed in regards to researching the property market in Australia.

Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing – Robert Kiyosaki

Following on from the international best-selling books, Rich Dad, Poor Dad and The Cash Flow Quadrant, this book takes readers through how Robert Kiyosaki recommends people should invest in property and treat it like a ‘mini business’. It offers an overview of investing in methods other than property, and also explains concepts such as managing cash flow and growth in property.

How to Create an Income for Life

This is the most recent book from Margaret Lomas and focusses on investing in positive cash flow property, as well as reaching financial freedom and independence through your investment choices.

From 0 to Financial Freedom – Steve McKnight

This is also the most recent book from this author, following on from his best-selling From 0 to 130 Properties in 3.5 Years. Reflecting the change in the market since the release of his first book, this is a fresh take on the property market and how to build positively geared investments to achieve financial freedom in 2019.
